Welcome to my website.
I am Ayoub Rabhi, currently serving as Professor of Economics at Sciences Po Rabat, International University of Rabat (UIR). I have also served as a Visiting Faculty member at the College of Business and Economics, United Arab Emirates University.
I teach Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Economic Policy at both undergraduate and graduate levels, in addition to courses in statistics, finance, and the political economy of the MENA region.
I defended my PhD thesis in Economics in December 2019. My doctoral research focused on the optimal exchange rate regime for developing countries, with particular reference to the case of Morocco. Since then, my research agenda has expanded to examine macroeconomic policies, institutional frameworks, and the ways in which structural constraints shape development trajectories. A central pillar of my work lies in development economics, with particular attention to income inequality.
My work combines theoretical macroeconomics and political economy frameworks with applied empirical research. I employ advanced econometric techniques while maintaining a strong connection between empirical evidence, theory, and policy-relevant questions in development economics.
My research has been published in peer-reviewed international journals and presented at major academic conferences across the globe.
Beyond research and teaching, I am actively engaged in academic service. I am a member of the Center for Global Studies (CGS) and the Association marocaine des sciences économiques (AMSE), and I regularly contribute to academic evaluation, conference organization, and scientific and pedagogical activities.
This website is where I share my research, ongoing work, and some of my thoughts on economics and contemporary policy debates. My overarching objective is to contribute to rigorous, critical, and policy-relevant research in economics, with a sustained focus on development, income inequality, macroeconomic instability, and structural transformation٫ particularly in Africa, the MENA region, and other developing regions.
